How long will the driving lesson last?
Driving lesson take around 60 minutes and occur in close contact with an instructor.
How can ACT lincence holders may obtain thier provisional Lincence?
ACT Learner licence holders may choose to obtain their provisional licence by completing either:
- the Competency Based Training and Assessment with an ACT Accredited Driving Instructor who will train and assess learners (Contact details for driving instructors can be found using internet searches or in the Yellow Pages under driving schools); or
- by booking a practical driving assessment with a Government Licence Examiner who will only assess learners.
What are the rerquirements to obtain a provisional driver licence?
The GLS requirements to obtain a provisional driver licence are:
- hold an active* ACT Learner Driver Licence for a minimum of 12 months (6 months if aged 25 or older at the time of getting your ACT learner licence)
- completed the online Hazard Perception Test** (can only be completed after 3 months of holding an active ACT learner licence)
- completed the required driving hours and record in your paper logbook, and
- successfully complete the one-off practical driving assessment with a Government Assessor or the Competency Based Training and Assessment through an Accredited Driving Instructor.
What is Credited Hours?
For the first 10 hours, 3 hours of supervised driving hours will be applied for each singular hour driven whilst supervised by an ACT Accredited Driving Instructor. The optional road safety courses combined, will provide a learner licence holder with credit of 30 hours supervised driving hours.
Note: The logbook will need to be filled in with all hours recorded on the appropriate pages. If an electronic logbook has been used to record any supervised driving hours, these details will need to be transcribed into the physical logbook.
What are the Cancellation Policy?
Capital Driving School instructors are professional driver trainers and like yours, their time is valuable. Cancellations and changes must be made 24 hours prior to your lesson time, or a cancellation payment of the full $75 will be required (except in extenuating circumstances). Cancellations and changes can be made by telephone (text included) through your Driving Instructor or through the website.
